GREENVILLE, Ill. – The Eureka women's soccer team held Greenville scoreless for 42 minutes and only trailed the Panthers by one goal at halftime on Friday night.
However, the home team still managed to amass seven goals by the end of the match and came away with a 7-0 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference win.
Greenville's Kat Stroot put the Panthers on the board on an assists from Brooklyn Haro in the 13rd minute. Eureka didn't concede another goal until the Kate Arthur put one away in the 55th
After that, however, Greenville poked in five more.
Eureka goalkeeper Abby Swope (Canton, Ill./Canton) recorded a match-high 17 saves.
Next Wednesday, EC (1-12, 0-5 SLIAC) will take on Iowa Wesleyan on the road at 3 p.m.
