EUREKA — The Webster men's soccer team struck twice in less than a three-minute span in the first half, and pulled away in the second to hand Eureka a 7-0 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference season-opening loss on Saturday.

It started with a penalty kick by Juan Garcia in the 20th minute. Then, in the 22nd, Aamah Murvin made it 2-0.

Only trailing by two goals at the half, the Red Devils weren't out of it, but Garcia scored again off an Isaac Pearson assist in the 47th minute, Henok Moges scored off an assist by Justin Kohler in the 64th, and the Gorloks found the back of the net three times in the last 20 minutes.

It was the Gorloks' 13th straight win over the Red Devils. Webster outshout EC 29-3 while placing 16 shots on frame.

EC goalkeepers Moises Aldana (Spring Valley, Ill./Hall) and Fabian Saldana (Aurora, Ill./Aurora Central Catholic) made four and five saves, respectively.

The Red Devils (24-1, 0-1-0 SLIAC) will look to bounce back against Principia at home on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
