EUREKA – A 12th-minute goal from Adam Jones was enough for Greenville in the Panthers' 2-0 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory over Eureka, Saturday at McKinzie Field.
Ruben Martinez added insurance GU at 64:54.
James Bowen (Homer Glen, Ill./Seneca H.S.) and Diego Cintora (Watseka, Ill./Watseka H.S.) attempted two shots apiece for the Red Devils. Moises Aldana (Spring Valley, Ill./Hall H.S.) made 10 saves to run his season total to 87, 10th-most in a season in Eureka history.
Saturday's match was the final contest for Eureka seniors Josh Mead (Tampico, Ill./Prophetstown H.S.), Mike Hernandez (Los Angeles, Calif./Metamora H.S.), Tim Johnson (Peoria, Ill./Notre Dame H.S.) and Bowen.
