EUREKA – Eureka held St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference heavyweight Webster scoreless through more than 43 minutes Saturday afternoon at Traister Field, but the visiting Gorloks broke a scoreless tie on Isaac Pearson's 44th-minute goal and added four more goals in the second half for a 5-0 league win over the Red Devils.
Pearson's goal allowed the visitors to break a scoreless tie just 87 seconds before halftime. The Gorloks outshot the Red Devils 15-5 in the first 45 minutes.
Juan Garcia put the wheels in motion on a four-goal outburst from WU in the second half, scoring at 46:37 for a 2-0 advantage. Pearson added a second tally as part of the Webster scoring spree.
Eureka will travel to Carlinville, Ill. this Tuesday for a 3 p.m. SLIAC kickoff versus Blackburn.
