ELSAH, Ill. – Diego Cintora (Watseka, Ill./Watseka H.S.) and Michael Hansen (Peoria, Ill./Limestone H.S.) scored second-half goals in Tuesday's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match at Principia, but the Panthers scored eight times in the first 60 minutes of the match to down Eureka, 8-2.
Cintora's goal in the 61st minute was his fourth of the season, most by a Eureka freshman since James Bowen (11) and Tim Johnson (4) in 2015. Hansen struck at 83:10, his fifth goal of 2018 and the 12th of his 47-match career.
Cameron Sellers scored twice in the first 17 minutes of the match and Jack Rogers later delivered the match winner at 19:20 for a 3-0 lead. PC led 6-0 at halftime and tacked on two more goals shortly after halftime before Eureka spoiled the shutout bid in the final third of the match.
Eureka will host Webster Saturday at 3 p.m. at Traister Field.
