EUREKA, Ill. – Eureka College senior Brady Thomas (Mount Pulaski, Ill./Mount Pulaski H.S.) scored a goal in his final collegiate game Saturday at Traister Field, but St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rival Westminster scored twice in the first half and added a pair of insurance goals after halftime for a 4-1 league win over the Red Devils.
Thomas connected on his 23rd and final goal in a Eureka uniform in the 78th minute of Saturday's match. He finished his Eureka career ranked third on the Red Devils' all-time list for goals scored.
The Blue Jays got on the board with a pair of first-half strikes from Justin Gerdiman, including the match-winner at 16:53. Jacob Skaggs made it 3-0 with his tally just 18 seconds into the second half and Austin Chandler tacked on another WC goal at 55:33.
Eureka goalkeeper Daniel Johnson (Eureka, Ill./Eureka H.S.) made six saves in his final collegiate appearance. He departs the program as the all-time leader in wins, shutouts, saves, goals-against average, saves percentage and minutes played.
Eureka ended the season with a 2-13-0 record.
