Eureka, Ill. – Spalding University's Jacob McMurry scored the winning goal in the 5th minute – with the assist by Zach Fonda – to secure the Golden Eagles' win in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Game-of-the-Week. The Red Devils eventually fell 4-nil at the end of regulation.
Also scoring for the Golden Eagles was Dylin Albright, 33ndminute, Zach Fonda, 49th minute, and Abdullahi Abdullahi, 55thminute.
Brady Thomas (Mt. Pulaski, Ill./Mt. Pulaski) and James Bowen (Homer Glen, Ill./Seneca) each collected two shots. Bowen also had one on frame. Goalkeeper Daniel Johnson (Eureka, Ill./Eureka) collected 11 saves.
The Red Devils (5-2, 1-1 SLIAC) resume play at Traister Field on Tuesday versus SLIAC foe Principia. Kickoff is slated for 2 pm.
