RIPON, Wis. – Ripon netted four goals in the first half of play, including the game winner in the 25th minute, pushing the Red Hawks to a 6-2 non-conference victory, Thursday afternoon in Ripon, Wis.
Sophomore Brady Thomas (Mt. Pulaski, Ill./Mt. Pulaski) got the Red Devils on the board midway through the second half with a header in the 64th minute. Freshman James Bowen (Homer Glen, Ill./Seneca) cut the host deficit to 4-2 with a header off a free kick taken by Thomas.
The Red Hawks added insurance goals later in the second half to extend their lead to a four-goal cushion when the buzzer sounded.
Ripon outshot Eureka 29-13, with 20 shots on frame. Sophomore goal keeper Daniel Johnson (Eureka, Ill./Eureka) tallied 14 saves.
Eureka will return to St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference on Saturday when they host Westminster as part of the 2015 Homecoming festivities. First kick is set for 1 p.m.
