Senior Spotlight: Josh Newell

Eureka College sports information director Alex Hess caught up with senior Josh Newell of the men's soccer team for the seventh release of the 2015-16 weekly Senior Spotlight series that will have new seniors interviewed every Wednesday.

Q. What is your greatest athletic memory at Eureka College?

This year, celebrating on the bus ride back from Rockford University when we won 3-2 on a last second goal.

Q. Describe yourself in one sentence?

I'm a motivated person that can have fun in any situation.

Q. Aside from playing (sport), what are some of your other passions?

I am a bit of a history buff and enjoy learning about the Presidents of the United States. I love hanging out with my TKE brothers and helping out within the community. After studying abroad in China last semester, I would love to travel the world someday.

Q. What do you plan on doing after graduation from Eureka College with your (Business administration and Accounting)?

Looking for a job locally around here, possibly State Farm or Caterpillar, or going to graduate school in the area. Possibly coming back to campus and assistant coaching the soccer teams next year.

Q. What is one piece of advice you would give an incoming freshman?

This is the last time in your life that you will be with people your own age all day everyday so take advantage of it. After school you will join the workforce of people ranging from 20 to 65 years old. You will not be living and seeing people your own age every day until you are living in a nursing home.  So take advantage of every opportunity while you are young.
