ST. LOUIS, Mo. – For the first time this season and the second time in his career, Eureka's Peewee Brown (Peoria, Ill./Manual/Lincoln) is the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

The junior guard led the Red Devils to a 78-73, non-conference victory over Rockford with an explosive performance on Tuesday.

Brown dropped a season-high 27-points while also tallying five rebounds, four steals and two assists. He shot 10-for-16 from the field, knocked down 3 of 4 3-point tries and made 4-of-5 free-throw attempts. It was the most points that he has scored and tied for the most 3s that he has hit in a Red Devil uniform.

His timely shooting and confident, aggressive play on both ends that night also helped Coach Chip Wilde secure his 200th victory as a Red Devil.

Eureka (2-3) will next open St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Saturday with a road game Blackburn. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
