EUREKA – The Eureka men's basketball team has won four games in a row, and Peewee Brown (Peoria, Ill./Manual/Lincoln) is the latest Red Devil to be named St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

Brown, a sophomore, averaged 18 points and 6.5 rebounds per game in a pair of big SLIAC victories for the maroon and gold last week.

He tallied 20 points, seven rebounds and three assists in a win over Webster on Wednesday and followed that with 16 points, six rebounds and three steals in the Red Devils' 84-75, overtime win over Fontbonne on Saturday. The Lincoln College transfer totaled five steals and four assists in the two games while going 14-of-17 from the free-throw line.

This is the third straight week that a Eureka player has been selected SLIAC Player of the Week and the fifth time a Eureka player has garnered the honors this season.

Cody Baer (Peoria, Ill./Dunlap/Southwestern Illinois) won the weekly award the previous two weeks and also earned the honor in December, and Logan Dorethy (Hamilton, Ill./West Hancock/Hannibal-LaGrange) received it for the first time as a Red Devil in early January.

On Tuesday, Eureka (9-14, 7-5 SLIAC) will host SLIAC leader Principia (17-6, 9-3) in a Senior Night showdown at 7:30 p.m. It will also be Black Out night at Reagan Athletic Complex.
