EUREKA – For the first time as a Red Devil, Eureka's Logan Dorethy (Hamilton, Ill./West Hancock/Hannibal-LaGrange) is the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

Dorethy received the league's weekly honor after averaging a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 64.7 percent from the floor in two SLIAC wins last week.

The senior big man put up a season-high 32 points, pulled down 10 rebounds and recorded one assist, one steal and one block while shooting 15-for-22 from the floor in a 103-92 win over Greenville last Wednesday.

Then, on Saturday, he went to Westminster and notched 14 points, 10 boards, one assist and one block while going 7-for-12 from the field in a 96-92 road win over the Blue Jays.

Through 13 games, Dorethy is averaging 14.4 points while shooting 52.3 percent from the field. His 7.3 rebounds per game this season is the fifth-best rate in the SLIAC.

This is Dorethy's third SLIAC Player of the Week honor. His previous two came at MacMurray during the 2019-20 season. He is the second Red Devils to receive the award this season, following Cody Baer (Peoria, Ill./Dunlap/Southwestern Illinois) on Dec. 5.

On Wednesday, Eureka (4-9, 2-0 SLIAC) will vie for its third straight SLIAC win at Blackburn (5-8, 1-1 SLIAC). Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
