Eureka Falls at St. Francis, 90-64

JOLIET, Ill. – The Eureka men's basketball team's St. Francis Thanksgiving Classic ended with a 90-64 loss against NAIA St. Francis on Sunday.

The Red Devils stayed in striking distance for the better part of the first half, but the Fighting Saints took a 16-point advantage before the half and pulled away from there.

Eureka's Cody Baer (Peoria, Ill./Dunlap/Southwestern Illinois) scored a team-high 17 points on 8-of-13 shooting and pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.

Austyn Ellison (Hudson, Ill./Bloomington Central Catholic) added 10 points, four rebounds and three assists.

Logan Dorethy (Hamilton, Ill./West Hancock/Hannibal-LaGrange) had six points, while Zach Briggs (Decatur, Ill./Decatur MacArthur/Lincoln Land) and Gavin Johnson (Washington, Ill./Peoria Christian) each had five points.

Five Fighting Saints had between 10 and 16 points. Darius Wright had a team-high 16 on 7-of-8 shooting. Aitor Anabitarte and Casmir Ochiaka each had 14 points, while Nadav Gerner and Lewis McGlasson posted 13 and 10 points, respectively.

Eureka (1-6) will next take on Washington (4-1) in the 38th Lopata Classic on Friday at 7 p.m.
