Ian Milsteadt Named Back-to-Back SLIAC Player of the Week

EUREKA – For the second consecutive week, Eureka's Ian Milsteadt (East Peoria, Ill./East Peoria) is the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

The senior guard averaged 19.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game over three games last week.

He posted 26.5 points per game while shooting 61.3 percent from the field, 60 percent from 3-point range and 81.8 percent from the free-throw line in SLIAC play. He also averaged nine rebounds per game and had five blocks in those wins over Blackburn and Iowa Wesleyan.

On Wednesday, he scored 23 points on 50 percent shooting in a 74-57 home win against the Beavers.

Then, on Saturday, he recorded his second 30-point performance of the spring in an 84-72 victory over the Tigers., putting up 30 and pulling down 14 rebounds while shooting 11-of-15 from the field, making 4-of-5 3-pointers and going 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. He also contributed three blocks.

This is the Red Devils' third straight Player of the Week honor of the season. Fellow senior guard Chris Daniels (Peoria, Ill./Peoria) received the honor the first week of the season, and Milsteadt has been named Player of the Week the past two weeks. Going back to last season., this is the team's fourth straight time capturing the honor.

Through six games, the Red Devils are 4-2 on the season and 2-0 in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play after scoring wins over Blackburn and Iowa Wesleyan last week. The team will host Cornell College (3-4) on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
