EC’s Ian Milsteadt Named SLIAC Player of the Week

EUREKA, Ill. – For the first time in his career, Eureka's Ian Milsteadt (East Peoria, Ill./East Peoria) is the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

The 6-foot-2 guard averaged 29.5 points per game while shooting 53.7 percent from the field, 50 percent from 3-point range and made 6-of-7 free throws in a pair of non-conference games. He also contributed 8.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game.

Milsteadt started off the week on fire, dropping a career-high 33 points while shooting nearly 60 percent from the floor, making 5 of 8 3-pointers and adding seven rebounds, three steals and two assists in an 86-80 non-conference win on the road at Fontbonne on Tuesday. In addition, he only made one turnover on the night.

Then, on Thursday, Milsteadt notched a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds at Illinois College. This time, he was 9-of-19 from the field with four 3-pointers and two steals.

Milsteadt is the Red Devils' second Player of the Week honoree this season. Fellow senior guard Chris Daniels (Peoria, Ill./Peoria) was named Player of the Week for the first time last week. Going back to last season, this is the team's third straight time capturing the honor.

The Red Devils (2-1) are on the road on Monday for a 7 p.m. non-conference contest at Cornell College (2-3).
