Shea Feehan Repeats on D3hoops.com All-Region Team

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – One day removed from earning Eureka College's first National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District recognition since 2013, junior guard Shea Feehan (Peoria, Ill./Notre Dame H.S.) added to his list of accolades Tuesday by earning a spot on the D3hoops.com All-Central Region Second Team. Feehan is the fourth Red Devil to earn the regional honor from the website and the first Eureka men's basketball player to be honored by D3hoops.com in multiple seasons.

An All-Central Region Third Team selection by D3hoops.com last season as a sophomore, Feehan joins Craig Negangard (2004 All-Midwest Region Third Team), Michael Zasada (2010 All-Midwest Region Second Team) and Mark Lessen (2014 All-Midwest Region Second Team) as Red Devils to earn All-Region honors from D3hoops.com.

Tuesday's announcement adds to Feehan's growing list of honors received during his 59-game collegiate career. The 2018 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year and the only SLIAC player to receive regional honors from D3hoops.com, Feehan broke Eureka's single-season scoring record with 673 points. His per-game average of 30.6 ranked second nationally and broke his own Eureka record of 26.7 set last season. He became the first player in SLIAC history to average more than 30.0 points per game and broke the previous per-game scoring record of 27.9 set by Webster's Jeff Reis in 2000-01.

Additionally, Feehan was originally selected in mid-January as one of 100 players on the Watch List for the Bevo Francis Award from Small College Basketball. The award is presented annually to the player who has had the finest overall season within the affiliations of NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA Division I, NAIA Division II, USCAA and NCCAA.

Feehan ended his third season in a Eureka uniform ranked fourth in Eureka history and sixth in SLIAC history with 1,601 career points. He also became one of only four Red Devils to make 200 career 3-pointers and ranks fourth on the program's list with 201 career 3s. Additionally, his 380 career free throws rank second during EC's Division III era (1978-present) and his career free-throw percentage of 89.6 makes him the most accurate free throw shooter in Eureka men's basketball history.

Players were nominated for the D3hoops.com All-Region Teams by sports information directors at Division III institutions. There were more than 680 players nominated nationwide. The ballot was then made available to SIDs, who voted for a predetermined number of players in their region. It's the 17th season D3hoops.com has named All-Region teams.
