Feehan earns SLIAC weekly award

CARLINVILLE, Ill. -- For the first time in his collegiate career, Eureka College senior guard Sam Feehan (Peoria, Ill./Notre Dame [Illinois Central]) has been named St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week. Feehan averaged 25.5 points over two games played last week, including a 33-point outburst at home against Greenville on Jan. 20.

Against the Panthers, Feehan finished a sizzling 13-of-18 (.722) from the field, including 3-of-3 from the three-point line and 4-of-4 finish from the free throw line. Additionally, Feehan dished four assists and grabbed three rebounds.

Feehan followed up the offensive eruption with an 18 point effort against Principia on Saturday. He added a season-high six assists and tallied four steals.

Monday's announcement marks the second time an EC men's basketball player has been selected as the SLIAC Player of the Week this season (Kent, Dec. 7). The Red Devils will host the Spalding Golden Eagles on Wednesday in a conference tilt with a scheduled tip-off at 6 p.m.
