Shea Feehan named SLIAC Player of the Week

CARLINVILLE, Ill. -- For the first time in his collegiate career, Eureka College freshman guard Shea Feehan (Peoria, Ill./Notre Dame [Lewis]) has been named St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week. Feehan averaged 35.0 points over two games played last week, scoring 34 points at MacMurray and tallying 36 at Westminster.

Feehan finished the two-game conference slate shooting a blistering 25-of-35 (.714) from the field, including 4-of-9 (.444) from beyond the arc, and 16-of-20 (.800) from the free throw line. Additionally, the freshman hauled in thirteen rebounds, dished six assists, tallied two steals, and turned the ball over just twice.

Against Highlanders, Feehan connected on a season-high 15-of-20 (.750) field goals taken for 34 points and tied his personal-best with nine rebounds. Saturday at Westminster he one-upped himself, hitting 10-of-15 (.667) shots from the field and knocking down 14-of-17 (.824) free throws for an EC men's season-high 36 points.

Since joining the Red Devils at the beginning of the spring semester, Feehan has averaged 22.0 points over 26.7 minutes played per game and is shooting a sizzling 53 percent (61-for-115) from the field, 39.5 percent (17-for-43) from the 3-point line, and 86.8 percent (59-of-68) from the free throw line. Feehan has seen action in nine contests and has scored in double figures in all but one of them.

Monday's announcement marks the third time a Eureka College men's basketball player has been selected as the SLIAC Player of the Week this season (Kent, Dec. 7, Sam Feehan Jan. 25). The Red Devils will host the Iowa Wesleyan Tigers on Wednesday in a conference tilt with a scheduled tip-off of 8 p.m.
