Buduris Awarded First Team All-SLIAC

ST. LOUIS, MO. – Eureka's Sam Buduris (Shorewood, Ill./Minooka) has been named to the All-SLIAC First Team after a record-breaking season. Buduris had a breakout junior season after transferring to Eureka from McKendree, setting seven single-season school records in his first season as a Red Devil.

Buduris proved to be a force at the plate throughout the entire season. He accumulated 18 doubles, 113 total bases, and 62 hits in 151 at-bats, resulting is an impressive slugging percentage of .748. His performances in all five of these statistical categories set new Eureka single-season school records. Additionally, he led the Red Devils with 44 RBI, 9 home runs, and 3 triples. Buduris also finished the season with a batting average of .411, placing him fourth among all SLIAC players.

Buduris' exceptional season extended beyond his capabilities as a hitter. He also made significant contributions on the base paths, breaking single-season school records in stolen bases with 33 and runs scored with 53. 

As the right fielder for the Red Devils, Buduris showcased his defensive capabilities with a fielding percentage of .939, recording 75 put outs and 2 assists in 82 chances. 

Sophomore first baseman Andrew Schulte (Summerfield, Ill./Lebanon) was selected as the Red Devils' representative on the SLIAC All-Sportsmanship Team.
