Eureka’s Sam Buduris Named SLIAC Hitter of the Week for Second Time

EUREKA, Ill. – For the second time this season, Eureka's Sam Buduris (Shorewood, Ill./Minooka Community/Mckendree) is the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week.

The junior slugger batted .428 with two doubles, a triple, eight RBI, eight stolen bases and four walks in five wins over conference opponents this week.

He went 4-for-5 with a double, drove in three runs and had five stolen bases in a 14-8 SLIAC win over Principia on Friday, and he also used his speed to score the winning run in the bottom of the ninth in a 4-3 win over Fontbonne on Wednesday.

He's currently hitting .444 (second in the SLIAC) while leading the league with an .806 slugging percentage and a 1.324 OPS. He also currently ranks 58th in batting average all of NCAA Division III, leads league in runs scored (30) and is second in RBI (27), doubles (eight), triples (three).

Eureka's three-game sweep of Principia over the weekend extended the team's winning streak to eight. On Friday, the Red Devils will take on the Mississippi University for Women (12-7, 4-2) in a 12 p.m. doubleheader in Columbus, Mississippi.
