Sophomore Trevor Wingard (Decatur, Ill./Meridian) came on in the eighth and struck out two batters in two scoreless innings.
Senior Jimmy Peterson (Bloomington, Ill./Homeschooled/Monmouth) put the Red Devils on the board with a two-run homer in the fourth inning after Dylan Hill (Steeleville, Ill./Steeleville) led off with a single.
The Red Devils plated two more runs in the eighth inning when Karter Hostetler (Morton, Ill./Morton) singled up the middle to drive in Peterson and Braden Cox (Washington, Ill./Illini Bluffs/Black Hawk). Peterson singled to right field with one out and Cox singled to left-center to move him into scoring position. They then advanced to second and third on a wild pitch before Hostetler came up to bat.
