Belhaven Blanks Eureka Baseball, 10-0

PINEVILLE, La. -- Belhaven earned its second victory in four days over the Eureka College baseball team on Saturday morning, a 10-0 decision in seven innings as part of the Marler Ford Classic in Pineville, La.

A solo home run from Terrell Hodges in the top of the first inning proved to be all the offense the Blazers would need Saturday. BU slowly built its lead over the remainder of the contest, scoring at least one run in six different innings.

Eureka threatened in the sixth inning on back-to-back one-out singles by Max Marcoux (Jennings County, Ind./Jennings County H.S.) and Braxten Ary (Manito, Ill./Midwest Central H.S.), but the Blazers navigated out of trouble thanks to an infield popup and a groundout.

Evan Smith (Moline, Ill./Moline H.S.) had two hits for the Red Devils. EC was limited to four hits for the game.

Eureka's contest scheduled for Saturday afternoon versus Louisiana College was rained out. The Red Devils and Wildcats will instead play a 12:15 p.m. doubleheader on Sunday in Pineville.
