Bio

Candace Van Bogaert was named Eureka College volleyball head coach on April 13, 2022. Van Bogaert is the 16th head coach in program history.

In the Red Devils' first season under her direction, Eureka went 8-9 on the season and 3-11 in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. The team doubled its win total from the season before, picked up three more league wins and reached the eight-win mark for the first time since 2017.

Van Bogaert came to Eureka from Lincoln College, where she was the men's volleyball head coach during the 2021 season. A Lincoln College alumna, Van Bogaert was previously an assistant coach for the Lincoln College men's and women's volleyball teams, helping the men's team clinch the 2018 National Collegiate Volleyball Federation Division II national championship.

Van Bogaert was also the assistant to the athletic director at Lincoln College for three years and was the head men's and women's bowling coach for two seasons. In addition to her Lincoln College coaching experience, Van Bogaert has coached at the high school and club levels.

She has been a head girls volleyball coach at Blue Ridge High School in Farmer City, and she was an assistant coach at Heyworth High School when it won a IHSA 1A state title in 2010. She has also coached Illini Elite club volleyball in Bloomington for six years.

This will be Van Bogaert's second stint 'neath the elms. From 2001-2002, she played volleyball under former Eureka head coach Molly Logan after playing two seasons at Lincoln College. Her 340 kills in 2001 are ninth-most in a season in Eureka volleyball history, and Van Bogaert joins Stephanie Logan as the only players in program history with at least 340 kills and 75 service aces in the same season.
