Bio

Sara Shaw was named the Eureka College Director of Athletics on Nov. 3, 2022. She is the ninth Director of Athletics at Eureka College in the institution's NCAA Division III era.

Shaw cames to central Illinois from Fairfield, Maine, where she accumulated more than 15 years of experience in collegiate athletics as a head and assistant athletic director, coach and student-athlete.

She was most recently the Director of Athletics at NCAA Division III Thomas College and an assistant softball coach for Division I University of Maine. Prior to that, she was an assistant athletic director and head softball coach at the University of Maine Presque Isle (UMPI).

At Thomas College in 2019-20, Shaw saw 16 of the department's 18 teams record a 3.0 GPA and two earn North Atlantic Conference titles. In five seasons as head softball coach at UMPI, she collected 100 wins, coached eight All-Americans and was named the 2016 Association of NCAA Division III Independents Coach of the Year and 2018 American Collegiate Athletic Association Coach of the Year. She guided the Owls to three USCAA National Tournament appearances, and served as Assistant Athletic Director for four years.

Prior to that, Shaw was an assistant athletic director, sports information director, assistant softball coach and assistant women's basketball coach at Central Maine Community College. She was also previously the Director of Parks and Recreation for the town of Limestone Maine, and is the owner and operator of a screen-printing and embroidery business with her husband, Jason.

A former student-athlete, Shaw competed in five conference championships as a softball and basketball player at Central Maine Community College and University of Maine at Farmington (UMF), winning one in each sport and making it to the NCAA Tournament in softball at UMF.

Shaw graduated from the UMF with a Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education in 2008. She then went on to attain an Associate of Science in Business Administration from CMCC in 2010, and a Master of Science in Sports Management from the United States Sports Academy in 2015.
