Heffernan and Fisher Receive All-Conference Honors
ST. LOUIS, MO. – Two Red Devil women came away from the SLIAC Indoor Track Championship with All-Conference Awards.
Karissa Heffernan (Metamora, Ill./Metamora/Lewis) received 2nd Team All-Conference honors for her finishes in the women's mile and 3000m run. Heffernan posted a 5:35.30 time in the mile and an 11:21.95 in the 3000m. She was edged out by Greenville's Gretchen Carie (later named Track Athlete of the Year) in both events.
Rachel Fisher (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) ran a 2:30.52 800m dash for the Red Devils, finishing 3rd in the event. Fisher was narrowly beaten by a pair of Greenville runners: Eva Schwaab and Norah Swinigan.
