EC Cross Country Holds Team Time Trial

EUREKA — For the first time since the program relaunched, the EC cross country team suited up and put its endurance to the test on Saturday.

The Red Devils held a two-mile time trial at Eureka Lake to simulate a race-day routine and atmosphere – and to see how much progress they've made since the beginning of the semester.

"It was really exciting just to see the team out and putting an effort in," EC coach Chris Robinson said. "It really did feel like it was a meet, like we were competing, even though it was just us. They each went in with a mentality of trying to race against themselves and trying to do the best they could – and it was a blast.

"They have made major, major leaps."

Robinson said that the team plans to hold another time trial — a 5K at Lower Lake Eureka Park on Nov. 7.
