EUREKA – The Eureka men's soccer team played Webster close early, but after holding a 1-0 lead at halftime, the Gorloks scored in flurries to pull away for a 6-0 win over the Red Devils.

Isaac Pearson put Webster on the board on an assist by Mark Moore in the 32nd minute, then Moore made it 2-0 on an assist by Colby Kapp in the 61st minute to kick off the second-half scoring.

After that, Aamahn Murvin found the back of the net twice and Marco Donjuan and Danny Nusinovic .

The Red Devils' defense had its moments before Webster started finding holes and capitalizing on them. There were times when the midfield had some solid combinations, but they never materialized in the attacking third.

Khalili Alleyne (Diego Martin, Trinidad/Fatima College/Lincoln) recorded the Red Devils' lone shot of the night. In goal, Brayton Strawkas (Buffalo, Ill./Tri-City) had five saves, while Carson Harvey (Pembroke, GA./Bryan County) had three.

Eureka will look to bounce back on Saturday when the Red Devils (4-5, 2-3) head to Fontbonnne for a 3 p.m. showdown.
