EUREKA – Eureka's Mike Dunne (Bartonville, Ill./Limestone/Lincoln Land) garnered St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week honors for the third time this season on Monday.

The left-handed sophomore closed out the 2023 regular season with a strong performance against Elmhurst at Henry Sand Field on Tuesday. He posted seven strikeouts while holding his opponent to just two hits and no earned runs in six innings, and the Red Devils came away with a 9-4 victory over the Blue Jays.

This is the Red Devils' fourth time receiving the SLIAC Pitcher of the Week award this spring. Dunne previously received it on March 6 and April 24, while right-handed senior Nathan Garard (Gibson City, Ill./Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley) received it for the second time in his career on March 27.

On Tuesday at 12 p.m., the Red Devils (12-23, 9-12) will open the SLIAC Tournament at Fontbonne (25-15, 13-8 SLIAC) in a quarterfinal matchup in Clayton, Mo.
