GREENVILLE, Ill. – Due to injury and COVID-19 protocols, Riley Reuter (Henry, Ill./Henry-Senachwine) was the only Eureka runner to compete at the Greenville Select Outdoor Track Meet on Saturday.

The freshman made the most of it, setting a new personal record in the 1,500-meter run by 20 seconds. She clocked in at 6:29.83 and finished 22nd overall.

"Riley ran well today and finished strong with a PR for the year," EC assistant cross country coach Ian Cummings said. "She was able to compete with conference runners, and see what we will be up against in two weeks."

Eureka now has one meet left on its schedule. The Red Devils plan to compete in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship on Saturday, May 1.

"We are excited for the upcoming couple of weeks of practice leading into the SLIAC conference championship," EC head coach Chris Robinson said. "Coach Ian and I are looking to strong showings to wrap up our season."
