Webster Sweeps Red Devils, 3-0

WEBSTER GROVES, Mo. – Webster took down the Eureka volleyball team in three sets at Grant Gym on Saturday. The final score was 25-11, 25-13, 25-17.

Playing shorthanded, the Red Devils saw four players record at least three kills.

Senior Corinne DeBoard (Centralia, Ill./Christ Our Rock Lutheran) and freshman Alexis Charlton (Eureka, Ill./Eureka) each tallied four kills, while freshmen Brooklyn Shell (Evansville, Ind./Mount Vernon) and Mallory Ward (Bridgeton, Mo./Ladue) each posted three.

Libero Jordyn Fox (Pontiac, Ill./Pontiac) racked up 20 digs. DeBoard also contributed 13 digs, two aces and the team's lone solo block of the day.

Setters Faith Catour (Orion, Ill./Orion) and Baylor Cluver (Watseka, Ill./Watseka) contributed nine and six assists, respectively.

Webster's Lauren Borik put down a match-high kills for the Gorloks, leading the way with 13.5 points overall. Kaylee Portrell followed with nine kills and Ali Spohr had eight.

The Red Devils will be back at Christine Bonati Bollwinkle Arena and Convocation Center on Wednesday at 7 p.m. when the team hosts Fontbonne in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play.
