Trio of Red Devils Named to 2019 Fall SLIAC All-Academic Team

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — The 2019 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Fall All-Academic Team was released on Tuesday, and a trio of Eureka College athletes was selected.

Eureka volleyball junior Caitlin Miller (Washington, Ill./Washington) and sophomores Corinne DeBoard (Centralia, Ill./Christ Our Rock Lutheran ) and Paige Klingler (Newton, Ill./Newton) all received honors.

Student-athletes must hold a 3.5 cumulative grade point average, be at least a sophomore in academic standing and have been enrolled in at least one full year at their current institution to be eligible for the award.

Miller, who is studying pre-nursing, was one of the Red Devils' top hitters this fall. She recorded a career-high 1.83 kills per set, posted 1.24 digs per set, notched 35 total blocks 15 aces over 27 matches.

DeBoard, a secondary education in mathematics major, appeared in 26 matches, averaged 1.21 kills per set and finished with 40 digs, 23 blocks, 12 assists and seven aces as a middle hitter

Klingler, a Second education in history major, racked up 227 digs while averaging 2.84 per set over 26 matches a libero and defensive specialist for the Red Devils. She also contributed 30 assists, nine kills, six aces and one block.
