EUREKA, Ill. -- The Eureka College volleyball team notched its first victory of the 2015 season, topping Robert Morris University-Springfield 25-22, 26-28, 25-18, 25-13, Tuesday evening at Eureka Middle School. The home match was the first of the season in Eureka for the team.

Eureka (1-6, 0-2 SLIAC) freshman Heather Robinson (Peoria, Ill./Bartonville) and Gabrielle Moody (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods) shared the team lead with ten kills apiece. The Red Devils tallied 36 kills as a team. Sophomore setter Meagan Hanney (Sherman, Ill./Williamsville) collected 22 of Eureka's 35 assists and added 10 digs for her first double-double of the season.

Sophomore defensive specialist Cassandra Beesley (Bunker Hill, Ill./Bunker Hill) led EC defensively with 27 digs, while Moody added a solo and assisted block.

Eureka will head on the road tomorrow and travel to Knox College for a contest that was originally scheduled for Sept. 1. First serve of the contest in Galesburg, Ill. is set for 7 p.m.
