LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Eureka College volleyball team dropped pair of St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matches on Saturday in Louisville, Ky., falling in five sets (27-25, 19-25, 13-25, 25-22, 13-15) to Principia and in three sets (25-8, 25-14, 25-21) to Spalding, Saturday in Louisville, Ky.
Freshman opposite Heather Robinson (Peoria, Ill./Limestone) recorded a double-double in game one with a team-high 18 kills and 16 assists, while sophomore Meagan Hanney (Sheman, Ill./Williamsville) led Eureka with 27 assists.
Freshman defensive specialist Jordan Detmers (Hartsburg, Ill./Hartsburg-Emden) collected a season-high 24 digs for Eureka defensively.
In the night cap, freshman outside hitter Lexi Dooley (Sutter, Ill./Warsaw) led the offensive charge with six kills, and Hanney added 10 assists.
Defensively, Detmers and classmate Gabrielle Moody (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods) combine for seven digs apiece.
The Red Devils continue conference play Wednesday at home in a 7 p.m. showdown against the Spalding Golden Eagles.
