EUREKA – Kayla Enochs (Greenfield, Ind./Central Greenfield) couldn't have picked a better time to score her first collegiate goal.

Tied at 0-0 in the 57th minute against Mount Mary in the pouring rain, the Eureka senior ran on to a perfectly placed corner kick by Daniela Gonzales (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods) and headed it home to give the Red Devils 1-0 lead.

It ended up being the match-winner in a memorable 2-0 non-conference victory over the Blue Angels on a frigid, soaking wet Senior Day at McKinzie Field.

The win marked the Red Devils' fourth blank sheet of the season, tying a program record for shutouts in a season. The only other time Eureka has notched four shutouts in a season was in 2010.

It was also the sixth shutout under head coach Shelby Chrisman Forza, breaking a tie she previously shared with Randy Crady and Robin Ramirez.

In addition to assisting on the match-winning corner kick, Gonzales was also responsible for the team's second goal. The junior midfielder received a pass from Emma Harris near the top of the box and ripped one with her left foot to the bottom left corner.

The Red Devils outshot Mount Mary on the day 16-1 and put 11 shots on goal. Freshman Alyssa Bryant (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods) had a team-high three shots goal for the Red Devils. Enochs, Gonzales and Michaela Mall (Princeton, Ill./Princeton) all had two, while Harris and Kate LeMasters (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) each had one.

Before the match, six Eureka seniors were honored for their contributions to the program and Eureka College: Enochs, Mall, Harris, Lindsey Johnston (Evansville, Ind./Harrison), Abby Swope (Canton, Ill./Canton) and Olivia Falls (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington).

The Red Devils (4-12, 2-10 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) will next head to Fontbonne (11-2-2, 10-0-2) on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
