Eureka Falls at Spalding, 4-0

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A shorthanded Eureka women's soccer team held Spalding to four goals in a 4-0 road loss, conceding two goals in each half to its St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foe.

Shelby Deering put the Golden Eagles on the board in the 20th minute after scoring off an assist by Bailey Whitehead. The home team found the back of the net again six minutes later, Dori Emig sent out sailing over the keeper's head from 35 yards out.

In the second half, Whitehead picked up another assist, with a pass to the top of box to Kara Krueger, who put it away in the 53rd minute.

Keely Ashby finished the final goal of the afternoon with a header off an assist from Maggie Holmes in the 88th minute.

Eureka goalkeeper Kayla Enochs (Greenfield, Ind./Central Greenfield) racked up 17 saves in her first start in net this season. Daniela Gonzales (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods/Lincoln) had the Red Devils' lone shot on goal of the match.

On Wednesday, the Red Devils (2-5, 1-3 SLIAC) will hope to be at full strength again when they take on Webster (5-3, 1-2 SLIAC) on the road at 5 p.m.
