Eureka, Ill. – The Spalding Golden Eagles shut out the Red Devils yesterday by a score of 8-nil. Junior Goal Keeper Kalionna Mathews (Troy, Ill./Triad) Collected 17 saves in the loss.
Spalding started their scoring streak early in the second minute to secure the win. Madison Ratchford of Spalding University scored the winning goal with the assist by Lauren Locke. The Golden Eagles scored five other times during the first half in their victory.
The Golden Eagles only allowed the Red Devils two shots during the game, while the Red Devils allowed 44.
Eureka (3-6-1, 0-1-1 SLIAC) resume play on Tuesday versus SLIAC foe Principia. Kickoff is scheduled for 4pm at Traister Field.
