Whitworth stops Eureka women's basketball

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Whitworth University's KC McConnell poured in 13 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, pacing the Pirates to a 57-26 victory over the Eureka College women's basketball team,Wednesday night in the Third Annual Music City Classic in Nashville, Tenn. The Red Devils finish the Music City Classic with a 1-1 record.
 
Senior guard Emily Camden (Green Valley, Ill./Midwest Central) led the Red Devils with 8 points, finishing 3-for-9 (.333) from the field and 2-for-5 (.400) from the three-point line. Junior forward Michaela Balducci (Eureka, Ill./Eureka) followed the scoring with seven, five points coming from the free throw line.
 
Junior guard Kelsey Forsythe (Pleasant Plains, Ill./Pleasant Plains [Lincoln Land]) dished four of Eureka's five assists and tallied three steals in the contest.

Eureka will return to the Christine Bonati Bollwinkle Arena and Convocation Center to face the MacMurray Highlanders in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday, Jan. 2. Tip-off is slated for 1:00 p.m.
