Eureka’s Cody Baer Selected SLIAC Player of the Week for Second Time

EUREKA, Ill. – For the second time this year, Cody Baer (Peoria, Ill./Dunlap/Southwestern Illinois) is the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

The junior big man averaged 29.5 points and 17 rebounds per game this week while shooting 65 percent from the field and 92 percent from the free-throw line. He also added six assists and four shots blocked on the week.

On Saturday, Baer tied the SLIAC record for rebounds in a game, bringing down 23 boards while racking up a career-high 43 points at Greenville. Earlier in the week, he posted 16 points and 11 rebounds on the road against Principia.

Baer leads the SLIAC in rebounding with 10.9 boards per game and is second in scoring with 17.4 points per game. He ranks sixth in the SLIAC in field-goal percentage at 53.5 percent.

Eureka (5-14, 3-5 SLIAC) will next host Blackburn (7-12, 3-5 SLIAC) inside Christine Bonati Bollwinkle Arena and Convocation Center on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
