Eureka Drops Division I Exhibition at North Texas

DENTON, Texas -- The Eureka College men's basketball team took its first road trip to the state of Texas since the 2012-13 season, Friday night, coming up short in a 122-65 exhibition loss to NCAA Division I North Texas at The Super Pit in Denton, Texas.

Shea Feehan (Peoria, Ill./Notre Dame H.S.) led all scorers with 24 points in 30 minutes of action. He finished the contest 10-for-12 from the foul line and connected on four of the Red Devils' nine 3-pointers. Hank Thomas (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods H.S.) also reached double figures with 13 points and distributed three assists.

Roosevelt Smart led the Mean Green with 21 points, one of six UNT players to score in double figures. North Texas shot 58 percent (45-for-78) in its opening-night victory and scored 60 points in the paint.

Eureka will play its second and final exhibition game Sunday in a 2:05 p.m. tip-off at Loyola (Ill.) in Chicago.
