Monmouth shoots down Eureka in men's basketball non-conference action

MONMOUTH, Ill. – Monmouth guard Will Jones shot 5 of 10 from the floor en route to 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, driving the Fighting Scots to a 101-71 non-conference victory over the Eureka College men's basketball team, Monday night at Glennie Arena.

The Red Devils, who have now played three contests in a four-day span, went back-and-fourth with the host over the first thirteen minutes, exchanging five lead changes. With the Red Devils clinging to a 27-26 lead with 7:20 remaining in the first half, MC used a 15-0 offensive blitz to regain control of the contest 45-27 before two made free throws by senior guard Sam Feehan (Peoria, Ill./Notre Dame [Illinois Central]) ended the EC scoring drought. Monmouth took a 51-32 cushion into the locker room.

Monmouth (1-0) sustained their lead through the second half, continuing their efficient offensive attack with points from ten different players.
