EC golf successful at SLIAC Tournament

EUREKA, Mo. -- The Eureka College men's golf team ended competition Monday and Tuesday in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament. The two-day event covered three rounds of golf at the Aberdeen Golf Club in Eureka, Mo. Spalding University won the team title for the second consecutive season.

Sophomore Brody Hibbard (Washington, Ill./Washington) paced the Red Devils with a 54-hole score of 290 and a 34th place finish. Freshman Ryan Barth (Minonk, Ill./Fieldcrest) finished with an overall score of 312, good enough for 36th place, while senior Tyler Schuler (West Dundee, Ill./Dundee-Crown) placed 37th with a 317.

Sophomore Tyler Nelson (Kewanee, Ill./Kewanee) came back from a wrist injury that forced him to withdraw from the second round to shoot a team-best 83 over the final round.
