EUREKA — Tanner Kuhne (Princeton, Ill./Princeton) has captured Eureka football's first Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Student–Athlete of the Week honor of the 2019 season.

The senior was named the NACC Special Teams Player of the Week after going 6-for-6 on extra points and making a 21-yard run for a first down on a fake punt in the second half of the Red Devils' 42-28 season-opening victory over Knox.

He also racked up 112 punting yards on three punts.

This was the seventh Special Teams Player of the Week award of Kuhne's career. In 2017, he snagged three Upper Midwest Athletic Conference awards, and last season, he earned three more during Eureka's first season in the NACC.

Heading into this week's home non-conference game against MacMurray, Kuhne is two extra points away from becoming Eureka's all-time leader in special teams.

With 107 to his name, Kuhne is just one extra point behind EC program leader Travis Huber.
