Eureka Blanked in West Division Series Finale at Webster, 6-0

EUREKA, Ill. – Eureka College freshman outfielder Braxten Ary (Manito, Ill./Midwest Central H.S.) collected two hits and freshman right-hander Braden Mann (Metamora, Ill./Metamora H.S.) pitched into the eighth inning Monday against one of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's top lineups, but Webster beat the Red Devils 6-0 in the final game of a three-game league series in St. Louis, Mo.

A two-run first, highlighted by run-scoring hits from Matt Wollnik and Ben Dinter, put the WU attack in motion. The Gorloks added one in the third, one in the fifth and two in the eighth to finish Monday's scoring.

Eureka was limited to four hits Monday. A two-out Grant Mullin (Chicago, Ill./St. Rita) double in the first inning was the only EC extra-base hit for the day. Mann came within an out of finishing eight innings, but still fired a career-high 7.2 frames.

The Red Devils will have an off-day Tuesday before finishing a three-game West Division series with Iowa Wesleyan in a Wednesday doubleheader against the Tigers in Mount Pleasant, Iowa.
