Eureka Sweeps Principia on Road, 3-0

ELSAH, Ill. – The Eureka volleyball team swept Principia on the road on Saturday, sealing a season series sweep over the Panthers.

The final scores were 25-13, 25-22, 25-6. 

Alexis Charlton (Eureka, Ill./Eureka) and Frannie Heckman (Benson, Ill./Roanoke-Benson) led the way at the net, with each racking up 12 kills while hitting .458 and .476, respectively. The Red Devils hit .212 as a team.

Setter Sara Hart (Secor, Ill./Eureka) posted 11 assists and libero Regan Reed (Flanagan, Ill./Flanagan-Cornell) came up with a team-high 15 digs. Heckman landed a team-high three aces, and three others had two aces to give Eureka 10 on the day. Charlton, Hope McGinnes (Mackinaw, Ill./Deer Creek-Mackinaw/Lincoln) and Haley Morgan (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington) each had two aces.

Eureka (8-17, 3-9 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) will next take on Blackburn (4-19, 3-9 SLIAC) on the road on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The match could very well decide who will compete in the SLIAC Tournament this year.
