Greenville Sweeps EC Volleyball, 3-0

GREENVILLE, Ill. – After picking up team's first sweep of the season over the weekend, the Red Devils ended up on the wrong end of one at Greenville on Tuesday.

The Panthers swept the Red Devils 25-7, 25-10, 25-13 at H.J. Long Gymnasium.

Brooklyn Shell (Evansville, Ind./Mount Vernon) tallied a team-high six kills on a night that EC struggled at the net.

Corinne DeBoard (Centralia, Ill./Christ Our Rock Lutheran) followed with three kills and one solo block, Regan Reed (Flanagan, Ill./Flanagan-Cornell) contributed two and had an ace, and Katelin Peters (New Berlin, Ill./New Berlin) had one kill, along with two solo blocks and two block assists.

In the back row, Megan Masching (Pontiac, Ill./Pontiac) racked up team-high 15 digs, and Jordyn Fox (Pontiac, Ill./Pontiac) was right behind her with 14. Setter Faith Catour (Orion, Ill./Orion) notched 10 assists.

Greenville setter Jordan Lempa spread the ball around for 20 assists. Anna Finch had a team-high 8, while four others had five kills or more.

The Panthers hit a scorching .423 in the first set but gradually cooled down from there, finishing at .077 in the final set.

Eureka (3-9, 0-1 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play) is set to host Spalding (at 3:30 p.m.) and Principia (at 7:30 p.m.) in on Friday in the team's second tri-match of the past two weeks.
