Eureka Volleyball Falls in Four at Principia

ELSAH, Ill. — The Eureka volleyball team dropped a four-set St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match against Principia on Tuesday night.  

Eureka found a spark of offense in the third set but was unable to get enough in the other three as they fell, 25-15, 25-16, 28-30, 25-19. 

Continuing her strong start to the season, setter Sara Worrell (Jacksonville, Ill./Routt Catholic) produced a big, symmetrical double-double with 23 assists and 23 digs. 

Providing some help was Mckenzie Reiners (Milford, Ill./Milford), who racked up 18 digs, along with two assists. 

Four other Red Devils had double-digit digs on the night. Paige Klingler (Newton, Ill./Newton) led the way with 15 and Megan Masching (Pontiac, Ill/Pontiac Township) had 14, while Jordyn Fox (Pontiac, Ill/Pontiac Township) followed with 13, and Caitlin Miller (Washington, Ill./Washington) rounded them out with 11.

The Red Devils (3-7) will vie for their first conference victory when they return home to take on Fontbonne (0-9) Friday night inside Christine Bonati Bollwinkle Arena at 7 p.m.
