Eureka Closes Season With Setback at St. Mary-of-the-Woods

ST. MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. – Eureka College senior Anna Crank (Washburn, Ill./Midland H.S./Clarke) registered a double-double in her final collegiate match with 10 kills and 10 digs, but USCAA St. Mary-of-the-Woods earned its second victory over the Red Devils in 2017 on Thursday with a 25-9, 25-11, 25-22 win at Hamilton Arena in St. Mary-of-the-Woods, Ind.

Crank tallied 10 kills Thursday and finished her lone season in an EC uniform with 337 kills, 10th-most in a season in program history.

Thursday's match also represented the final contest for four-year seniors Meagan Hanney (Sherman, Ill./Williamsville H.S.) and Beth Mickna (Deer Creek, Ill./Dee-Mack H.S.). Hanney had a kill Thursday and closed her collegiate career with 1,214 assists, sixth-most in program history. Mickna put down five kills Thursday and totaled 293 kills during her 69-match career that was slowed by a season-ending injury in 2014.

Eureka finished the 2017 season with an 8-18 overall record.
