MONMOUTH, Ill. – The Eureka College volleyball team won the first two games of Tuesday's non-conference match at Monmouth, but the host Fighting Scots withstood a huge EC rally in game three and overcame an early deficit of their own in the decisive fifth game to beat the Red Devils, 25-27, 20-25, 26-24, 25-22, 15-11 at Glennie Gymnasium in Monmouth, Ill.
The loss drops the Red Devils to 1-5 this season. Complete statistics from the match were unavailable Tuesday night.
Eureka will travel to St. Louis for the second consecutive weekend this Saturday for a pair of St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matches. The Red Devils will visit Fontbonne at 11 a.m., followed by a 1 p.m. contest against Spalding.
