EUREKA, Ill. – The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference leader Greenville proved too much for the Eureka College volleyball team, taking down the Red Devils in straight sets, 25-17, 25-15, 25-11, Tuesday night in the Christine Bonati Bollwinkle Arena and Convocation Center on the Campus of Eureka College.
Freshman opposite Heather Robinson (Peoria, Ill./Limestone) continued her stellar rookie campaign with a team-high five kills, while setter Meagan Hanney (Sherman, Ill./Williamsville) collected six assists.
Defensively, sophomore defensive specialist Cassandra Beesley (Bunker Hill, Ill./Bunker Hill) racked up double digit digs with ten and sophomore outside hitter Beth Mickna (Deer Creek, Ill./Dee-Mack) tallied three blocks.
Eureka will turn its action to a non-conference match up Thursday against Robert Morris University-Peoria. The match is for 7 p.m. at the Peoria RiverPlex.
