Eureka tops Robert Morris-Springfield in non-conference action
EUREKA, Ill. – Eureka College freshman opposite Heather Robinson (Peoria, Ill./Limestone) led an efficient EC attack with 6 kills and five assists, helping the Red Devils earn their second home victory of the season in a 25-19, 25-14, 25-18 non-conference triumph over Robert Morris-Springfield, Tuesday evening at the Christine Bonati Bollwinkle Arena and Convocation Center.
Eureka sophomore outside hitter Beth Mickna (Deer Creek, Ill./Dee-Mack) also added six kills to tie Robinson for the team-high.
Sophomore setter Meagan Hanney (Sherman, Ill./Williamsville) supplied a team-high eight assists.
Defensively, freshman libero Jordan Detmers (Hartsburg, Ill./Hartsburg-Emden) and junior defensive specialist Emily Harrod (Eureka, Ill./Eureka) tallied nine digs apiece, while Hanney provided eight.
The Red Devils will face a quick turnaround, with a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference home contest against Webster University scheduled for tomorrow. First serve of the match is set for 7 p.m.
